On the whole, Mr. Majnu is a contemporary love story which has a decent set up. But the lack of emotional connect in the love story takes things down in the second half. The lead pair does extremely well and hold the proceedings along with some decent comedy which clicks here and there. Novelty wise, there is nothing new in this film and we suggest you keep your expectations in check and go in with the flow of the film which ends as a below average fare this weekend.

Mr Majnu is a story of a guy who is well known for his cupid things and how he fell in love of a girl seriously. The movie starts off by introducing Akhil Akkineni as a playboy in which that element to make us believe he is a charmer has gone over the board. The first half works well with not many boring sequences and ends on an emotional note. The second half starts with the same emotion and it drags and drags and drags until the audience are fed up. There is nothing much in this second half but a hero trying to convince his love interest with the use of people surround him as scapegoats. This is a formula which is seen by us from the past decade, thanks to Srinu Vaitla. Director Venky Atluri who has done fantastic work for his debut film Tholiprema has failed to create the magic of love story with this film. To sum up, Mr Majnu is another disappointment for Akhil.

Mr Majnu is an average fare on a whole. Akhil Akkineni has been succeeded in a role which is apt for his age. Director Venky is able to engage family audience with emotional scenes in first half, passes in setting up the right conflict point towards the Interval, but falls short in conflict resolution in 2nd half. Overall, this film has mix of family and youthful elements, you may give it a try.

Overall Mr Majnu is a decent youthful romantic and family entertainer movie, which is filled with a lot of emotional and heart touching dialogues. Venky Atluri executes the movie Mr Majnu in engaging manner. The first half of the film is entertaining but the second half has dull moments. The plot of Mr Majnu is interesting and it could be executed in more exciting manner with little more effort.

The movie is a routine story. Director succeeds in making the audience connect to sentimental scenes in the first half whereas he miserably failed to connect with the audience to Sentimental and love scenes in the second half. Akhil did justice to his role and Thaman has given his best background score, in recent time. As the story falls flat from the beginning of the second half itself and continued to the end. Hyper Aadi and Priyadarshi comedy didn’t work well. Overall it may have limited run at the box office due to no other movies releasing this weekend. Overall it’s a below average to average movie. Even The sentimental scenes which were good in the first half may not help the film to sustain near box office for a long run.
